🔎 In 1999, the Moroccan Argan forest was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Local argan farming helps grow and protect the forest.
🔎 The argan nut is a hard, almond-like seed covered by a hard shell and fruity outside pulp. Goats find this pulp quite delicious. In order to protect the quality of the Argan Oil, the nuts have to be gathered with the pulp intact - meaning the goats haven’t yet eaten and digested them.
🔎 Leo Africanus, the popular historian, learned about the recuperative health benefits of Argan Oil, so he took it to Europe in 1510. Europeans embraced the goodness of Argan Oil and it soon became an expensive beauty product among the rich and royal.
🔎 The Moroccan culture is proud to be the originator of Argan Oil. This liquid gold (speaking of golden liquids, check out our Virginic™ Golden Jojoba Oil) has been a part of their culture for several decades now. The explorers have found that Argan Oil was known as a beauty oil way back in 1550 BC.
🔎 Goats are so interested in argan nuts that they will actually climb the trees for a chance to munch away!
🔎 Argan Oil is completely unique – it’s true! It can penetrate the epidermis layer of the skin far easier than most oils, including the famous coconut oil. Real Argan Oil contains a lipid called squalene. As we age, our skin becomes depleted in squalene; thankfully, Argan Oil naturally contains this very ingredient. It boosts hydration, oxygenation and encourages cell regeneration. Since squalene occurs naturally in our sebum (skin oil), it is absorbed easily and really makes a difference in how your skin looks and feels.
🔎 Many of your beauty products can be replaced by Argan Oil (so if you want to, feel free to replace them all, but if you just want better versions of what you have - keep reading the brackets):
Facial moisturizer (if you don't want to replace it, we got you), hair conditioner, serum (though you may want different smells with various other qualities - you won't know if you don't try), styling balm, make-up remover (hi again, we have a 2 phase one which everyone loves), chapstick, finger and toenail oil, body cream (we have the creamiest, most velvety one here). All of these products you may already own can be replaced with a single bottle of Virginic™ Moroccan Argan Oil. Buying real, pure Argan Oil online will not only transform your body – it will save you money!
🔎 To produce one liter of Argan Oil it takes 20 hours of manual work. The Argan Oil is so natural that the methods to prepare the treatment for your hair have not changed in generations.
🔎 The King of Morocco declared the Argan farming industry a women only industry. This has aided in literacy rates increasing and has allowed the argan fruit pressing process to remain true to tradition.
🔎 Argan Oil can be used for cooking and for medicinal purposes, however, it is now mass marketed for cosmetics purposes and largely for hair care.
🌰 To experience the argan oil benefits while exfoliating, just mix 1 tablespoon of brown sugar with a couple of drops of argan oil in your hand. Rub into your face in a circular motion for 2-4 minutes; pay special attention to acne prone areas and areas that are dry. Rinse with warm water, and pat dry.
🌰 Argan oil can help prevent stretch marks by improving the elasticity of the skin. Warm 2-3 drops of pure argan oil in the palm of your hands and gently rub your stomach, hips, thighs or any other areas. The vitamin A and vitamin E will help to rejuvenate the skin while moisturizing it.
🌰 If you have dry, brittle hair, once a week do an overnight deep conditioning treatment with argan oil. Warm 4-10 drops in your hands before massaging into your scalp. Continue applying all the way to the ends, twist, and place a shower cap on top. Your natural body heat retained in the shower cap will help the oil to penetrate, while keeping your pillowcase free of oil. In the morning, wash your hair as normal, rinsing until all residue is gone.
🌰 Leave in conditioner and styling. Start with a drop (or for short hair ½ drop may do) and warm in your palms before raking your fingers through your hair, paying special attention to your ends. Once complete, add ½ drop to your fingertips and massage into your scalp. Rub any excess into your face, neck or hands.
🌰 Argan oil benefits more than just your skin and hair; it makes for a wonderful lip treatment or chap stick substitute! Rub in 1-2 drops, and wipe away any excess. This will not only heal any cracked lips, but also keep your lips soft, smooth and conditioned. Keep argan oil around in winter-time to prevent chapped lips.
🌰 Dot a fraction of a drop directly onto each nail, one at a time, and rub into the nail bed and cuticle. Leave on until all nails have been treated. Wash and rinse thoroughly and then apply polish as desired. The oil will help to condition your nails, but also help keep your cuticles moisturized
🌰 If you have dry cracking skin on your feet or heels, rub 2 drops into your feet, paying special attention to the problem areas. Depending on the how dry your skin is, you may need to apply a couple of more drops to fully moisturize the area. Cover with a pair of cozy socks to give the oil a chance to soak in. Leave the socks on for at least 20 minutes, and preferably overnight. Remove the residue of the oil after the treatment.
🌰 Argan oil absorbs quickly, and does not leave an oily residue. After cleansing your skin with your Virginic™ Almond Cleanser, pour a single drop into your palm and warm it up. Apply in a circular motion to your face and neck. The oil will improve elasticity by supporting the collagen fibers beneath the skin and will prevent oxidative damage caused by the sun’s rays.
🌰 For full body moisturizer add just a couple of drops of argan oil to your food-grade carrier oil of choice (coconut, olive, jojoba, sweet almond, or sesame) to immediately reap all the benefits of this healing natural oil. If you have dry patches on your heals, elbows or other areas, massage an extra drop into those areas for relief.
🌰 If you suffer from acne, or if you have scars from a teenage bout with acne, Argan oil can help. The high linoleic acid in this oil reduces the redness of acne and its scars. The antioxidants in this oil also help to reduce inflammation. If you have acne currently, the best way to help get rid of it is to mix three or four drops of tea tree oil into one teaspoon of Argan oil. Rub this mixture on your clean face each day using a cotton ball. Allow it to work for 10 minutes, then simply rinse (don’t wash) with lukewarm water. Repeat this twice each day for best results.
