What is Rosehip Oil?

Rosehip Oil or rosehip seed oil is the essential oil from the seeds of a specific species of rose, Rubiginosa, and can be found in the rosehip, which is the structure that is left behind once the rose has bloomed. These seeds can be cold-pressed or the oil can be extracted through various distillation processes.

It is full of antioxidants, needed by the body to fight free radical damage caused by lifestyle and environmental factors like smoking, too much sun exposure and pollution and leading to premature aging and even skin cancer. Unlike many other natural oils, Rosehip doesn’t lose its antioxidant qualities during processing either.

Benefits of Adding Rosehip Oil to Your Skincare Routine:

⚜️ Rosehip Oil can work as a great natural alternative for moisturizing. "It has nourishing fatty acids, which along with water, is the main ingredient in most moisturizers," says Goldenberg*.

⚜️ The properties of Rosehip Oil allow it to treat signs of pigmentation, hydrate skin and repair damaged skin, and provide a strong protective antioxidant boost — all without the oily feel of a traditional liquid oil.

⚜️ If you’ve been struggling to even out your skin tone or have red blotches you’re desperate to fade, this vitamin-packed cocktail is much easier on sensitive skin than lemon juice, so rub it on clean, damp skin both mornings and evenings.

⚜️ The astringent properties in Rosehip Oil help tighten your pores and brighten your skin, so adding Virginic™ Rosehip Oil to your skincare routine is great if your cheeks need a little brightening up!
